The scariest time of the year is almost upon us! Aside from Minecon, Halloween is the only times that the average person will respect your need to roam the streets dressed as your favourite Minecraft mob. Sad but true.
In true Minecraft tradition, we’ve created a themed skin pack for Minecraft on Windows 10 and Minecraft: Pocket Edition to celebrate. But we’ve done something special this time around. This year’s pack is more about dressing up as your favourite mob – it’s kinda like your Minecraft avatar is about to head out for a trick or treating session, just like you might do on October 30th.
I think this is one of the most creative skin packs we’ve done so far. I hope you enjoy it too!
There are 15 skins in total, and it costs a $0.99 or equivalent. And, hey – even if you don’t download the whole thing everyone can download the Iron Golem and Zombie costumes for free.
Here’s the full list of skins included: Cow costume, Creeper costume, Enderman costume, Ghast costume, Iron Golem costume, Mooshroom Costume, Ocelot costume, Pig costume, Pink sheep costume, Rainbow sheep costume, Skeleton costume, Snow golem costume, Spider costume, Zombie costume.
The good folks at 4J have created an entire mash-up pack dedicated to the eeriest time of the year. Not only does this Halloween pack include a whopping 43 skins, a creepy texture pack you can apply to your other Minecraft worlds, and ghostly music, it comes with an entire world that’s guaranteed to scare you senseless. Well, that’s not actually true, but it is kinda freaky. There’s even a rollercoaster that you and your friends can ride on as many times as you like for no additional charge. The ride doesn’t feature boring things like height restrictions or tickets, you’ll be happy to hear.
The Halloween Mashup pack is available on all console versions of Minecraft and costs $3.99. The skins on offer have something of an old-school Hhalloween vibe. Here are some examples: Grim Reaper, Bride of Frankenstein, Wicked Witch, Tree Face, Mad Doctor, Swamp Monster and, of course, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. As with all our packs, you’ll be able to download a few of them for free.
The Halloween Mashup pack is available this Friday, October 23rd on all console versions of Minecraft and costs $3.99, or the equivalent price in your region.
Oh, and just in case any Pocket Edition or Windows 10 Beta players are reading this, don’t worry – you’re getting something equally special to celebrate Halloween. Check the Mojang blog this Friday for more info.
Have a great Halloween and a ghastly time on Minecraft, spooklets!

The Minecon 2015 Skin Pack (All console editions)
Even more DLC news for y’all! To celebrate the awesomeness that is next week’s Minecon 2015, we’re releasing a free bundle of skins for both Sony and Microsoft consoles. This pack is extra-special because it features Alex and Steve wearing a selection of smart capes.

Fire up your Xbox, load up Minecraft, then throw a freshly-baked cake at your television! It’s the most appropriate way to celebrate Minecraft: 360 Edition’s birth!1It’s three years old! If console Minecraft was a human it would be gaining independence and learning how to use zips.
To celebrate this monumental occasion2 we’re giving the 20 million players on Xbox 360 and Xbox One a heap of colourful skins. From today until the 17th of May three packs will be available to download for free. There’s a brand-new bundle featuring veteran Mojangstas and a few cheeky extras, our 2nd Birthday Skin Pack from last year, and our 1st Skin Pack from Minecraft’s first birthday.
Veteran 360 players might already have the older packs, but this is the first time any of them have been available on Xbox One. Be sure to snap them up, early(ish) adopters.
Big thanks to 4J Studios for doing such a great job on the console versions and massive thanks to you for playing our game, no matter your platform of choice.
To celebrate two years of skin sharing, Minecraft Skin Studio has been completely redesigned!
Since the release of Skin Studio over 900,000 skins have been created, almost 3,000,000 comments written, and over 2,500,000 likes cast. Not too shabby. A lot has changed in Minecraft since then too, so rather than patch the older version, the good people at 57digital have remade their app from the ground up.
A completely new user interface and easier to use editing system
Full support for both Steve & Alex
3D Previews everywhere – including while editing your skin!
Uses the new Minecraft API for importing a skin by username
Loads of advanced tools (including the much requested copy & paste!)
Over 900,000 community skins
The ability to submit your own creation to the community or download & modify!
Upload your skin to minecraft.net and change your skin for PC/Mac.
A trial version of Skin Studio is also available. Skin Studio Lite gives you the chance to design a full Minecraft Skin, but with slightly limited tools. It’s also worth pointing out that Skin Studio Pro users get the Encore upgrade for free! Just go to the updates tab on the app store.
Between Monday, January 20, 07:00 CET (Stockholm time) and Wednesday, January 22, 07:00 CET (also Stockholm time), we’ll be migrating our skin and cape databases. During these days, uploading skins and changing/redeeming capes will not be possible. Sorry for any inconvenience!
