: minecraft 以前、スクリーンショットの扱いなどの話で取り上げた内容が少し変化していたので、改めて紹介。
■新しい Terms of Use
Any tools you write for the game from scratch belongs to you. Other than commercial use (unless specifically authorized by us in our brand and assets usage guidelines – for instance you are allowed to put ads on your YouTube videos containing Minecraft footage), you’re free to do whatever you want with screenshots and videos of the game, but don’t just rip art resources and pass them around, that’s no fun. Plugins for the game also belong to you and you can do whatever you want with them, as long as you don’t sell them for money. We reserve the final say regarding what constitutes a tool/plugin and what doesn’t.
■内容変化
スクリーンショットや動画の扱い
内容の変化はそれほど大きくはありません。商用利用でなければ、ゲームのスクリーンショットや動画については相変わらず自由に出来るようです。若干の変化している部分としては商用利用の禁止ですが、これも穏やかな規制と見ていいと思います。youtube に広告付きで動画を上げるのは認められると例示がされています。おそらく企業とかがコラボもしてないのに勝手に使うのは嫌だというような意味合いの項目だと思います。ただし、リソースから絵を取り出して使うのはダメ。ロゴや名前の扱いに付いては別のページでガイドラインが作られているようです。

プラグインの扱い
他に変化した所してツールとプラグインの扱いで、ゲームのためのプラグインをほぼ何でもしていい状態で販売すらしてよい (including selling them for money.) となっていた所が、販売しない限り自由という表現に (as long as you don’t sell them for money.) 変化している。この辺は Notch が適当にやっていた頃と比べて変化を感じる所です。初めの ToU はプラグインの権利どころか販売まで自由に認めており、なんて凄い規約なんだと思っていましたが、最近は Minecraft のアップデート内容も含めて Mojang 周辺の対応が普通の企業の枠へ収束していっている感じはしますね。誤解がないように捕捉しておくと、 MOD については別に言及していているので、MOD の話ではありません。ここでいうプラグインというのがどういうものを指しているのか良く分からない部分もありますが、ツール/プラグインと併記されているので、外部ツール的な分類のようです。
