今回のバージョンアップが Portal 2 や Mortal Kombat と同じ日に公開された理由

　開発を進めているMojangのCEO，“ノッチ”ことMarkus Persson氏は，公開日の4月19日に，「なんという（スケジュールの）オーバーブッキングだ。こちらにはMinecraftが，あちらにはPortal 2が。うがー」とTwitterに書き込んでおり，どうやらPortal 2をたっぷり遊ぶため，なんとかBeta 1.5の公開にこぎつけたというのが真相のようだ。

　彼のTwitterにはほかに「今からPortal 2をやるから，バグ報告には目を通さないよ」とか「シングルを6時間で終わらせた」というような書き込みもあり，どうやらMinecraftのプレイヤーは，たとえ最新バージョンのバグに出会っても「まあ，Minecraftはまだβ版だし……」と諦めるしかないかもしれない。
