Minecraft Pocket edition の トレイラー動画が Mojang 公式ページで出されていたので紹介。Pocket Edition は 10月 7日に Android 2.2 上で動くものがリリースされたとか。日本の携帯電話でも動くのかどうかは不明。動画などでは一応 Sony の携帯電話が何度か出てくることはあった

Mojang がアップロードした youtube の動画で、 Minecraft Beta 1.7 についての進捗状況が明らかにされている。中でも特筆すべきは以前から噂の絶えなかった ピストンブロック(Piston) だろう。ピストンの仕組みはMODなどでは以前から存在したが、ついに公式でもピストンが登場する可能性が高くなってきた。ピストンとは何かというと、動画を見てもらえば分かるように、ブロックを押しだしたり動かすことが出来るピストン運動をさせるブロックだ。動画では水をせき止めたり、流したりの開閉のスイッチとしても使われている。更にスライムボールをつかった吸着するピストンと普通のピストンの2種類があるようだ。

This is a demonstration of the piston block in Minecraft beta 1.7. The features of this block is mostly complete, but sound effects are missing.

The piston concept was originally developed by the Minecraft community member Hippoplatimus. Additional implementation details were supplied by DiEvAl.
