Minecraft 1.8 Adventure Update の公式 Trailer が公開された。動画から次のアップデートの雰囲気が色々見てとれる。スプリント、スプリントジャンプ、Adventure 要素、牛かドロップする肉、緑の玉、ゾンビのドロップアイテム、煉瓦に絡むツタ、畑に生えている緑のカボチャ風のもの、そしてEndermen。

GameSpy.com の記事によると Minecraft 1.8 が 9 月 8 日にリリースされるという話が出ていた。それによると、ゲーム開発者の Jeb Bergensten 氏が twitter で version 1.8 が9月8日にリリースされるべきだというつぶやきをしたらしい。

Minecraft Beta 1.8 ではスプリングという走る動作が追加されると言われている。その助走を使ったスプリングジャンプ(Sprint Jump)呼ばれるダッシュした後のジャンプの飛距離についての動画が youtube の Mojang のチャンネルに追加されてた。

近く行われる Adventure update において新しい Mob が追加されるらしい。Notch 氏のブログでその辺りの話が書かれている。新 MOB は Endermen と呼ばれているそうだ。

Back in the office, and some words on 1.7 and 1.8!

Minecraft beta 1.7 は間もなくリリース予定だ。1.7 はピストンと 2 つのバグ修正だけでリリースされる。adventure （多分新しく作っているadventure モードの事だと思う）のアップデートは 1.8 としてリリースされることになるだろう。ちょっと長く待つことになるかもしれないけど、その価値はあると思うよ!

1.8 の後で、完成版を11月にリリースする予定だ。これには mod API 、安定性とパフォーマンスの改善、フレンドリストや、サーバーブラウザーのようなサポートなども含まれる。シングルプレイとマルチプレイの統合され、ほとんどの重要な部分は具体化するはずだ。
