It seems that lots of you are having a great time on Minecraft: Story Mode – a narrative-driven game developed by Telltale Games and set in the world of Minecraft. That makes us very happy!

Well, prepare yourselves for even more enjoyment because Episode 2 – Assembly Required is now available for download on all platforms. That was quick, eh? Watch the trailer up there for a taste of what’s to come.

以前から何度か Mojang のブログで崩壊されていた「Minecraft: Story Mode」がリリースされたらしい。PC, Mac, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Android, そして iOSに対応しており、Steam などでも販売されてるようだ。恐らく現時点ではリリースされているのが英語版だと思うので、英語でもいい人向けかと。あと普通のマインクラフトではないので間違えないように購入時には注意した方が良いと思う。普通のマイクラと思って購入する人が結構出てしまうのでないかと。

Minecraft: Story Mode is almost here!

The first episode of Minecraft: Story Mode is almost here! It’ll be available to download on October 13th which is less than two weeks away!

Minecraft: Story Mode is an episodic game series from Telltale Games. You play as Jesse who (in a first from the studio) can be a male or female hero, and embark on an exciting adventure to save the world while learning about a group of legends known as The Order of the Stone.

Telltale’s games are more about story and characters than building and crafting, but the world of Story Mode will be familiar to anyone who’s played Minecraft. We’ve been working closely with our buddies at Telltale to make it feel as authentic as possible so, whether you’re a veteran crafter or a casual builder, Story Mode will warm the cockles of your hearts.

Minecraft: Story Mode will be available to download on PC, Mac, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Android, and iOS devices. You’ll also be able to get it on disc at the end of October if you prefer. That version comes with the first episode, and will grant access to the other four as they become available. Minecraft: Story Mode will also be coming to Wii U at a later date.

Minecraft: Story Mode Episode 1 due this October!

Hello!

You probably remember us talking about Minecraft: Story Mode back in December. It’s a narrative driven adventure made by Telltale Games which takes place in the world of Minecraft.  Read on,  crafter, because we finally have a release date!

The first Episode of Minecraft: Story Mode will be released on Tuesday October 13th this year. It’ll be called “The Order of The Stone” and will almost definitely be the best thing to happen in the whole of that month.

One of my favourite things about Story Mode is that you get to choose which type of Jessie – the main character – you want to play as, regardless of gender or look. That’s the first time any Telltale game has let you do that; it’s great that we can represent our playerbase so well.

Minecraft: Story Mode will be available on Xbox consoles, PlayStation consoles, PC, Mac, iOS, and Android-based devices. Wii U and Playstation Vita versions are also in the works, but they’ll release a bit later on.

こんにちは！

前にした Minecraft: Story Mode についての話を、みんなは多分覚えていると思うけど、Telltale Games が作った Minecraft の世界で物語が進行するアドベンチャーモードの話について。気になる人は下を読んで欲しい。ついにリリースの日程が決定したんだ！

Minecraft: Story Mode の初めのエピソードは今年の10月13日（火）にリリースされる予定。これは “The Order of The Stone” と呼ばれている。10月に起きる出来事の中では、ほとんど最高の事になると思うよ。

ストーリーモードについて個人的に気に入っている一つとして Jessie （メインキャラクター）のタイプを選べて、プレーしたい性別や見た目で遊べる事があるよ。Telltale game のゲームとしては、これは初めての事。これは凄い事だね。
That’s the first time any Telltale game has let you do that; it’s great that we can represent our playerbase so well.

Minecraft: Story Mode は XBOX、プレイステーション、PC、Mac、iOS、そして android で利用できるようにする予定。WiiU と Playstation Vita バージョンについても取り組んでいるけど、こっちに関しては少し遅いリリースになると思う。

Announcing Minecraft: Story Mode

Did you enjoy Info Quest II? I hope so. It took up a lot of resources.

In other news, we’re collaborating with Telltale Games to create Minecraft: Story Mode! Here are some bullet points to celebrate!

• Minecraft: Story mode will be a narrative-driven video game created by Telltale Games. It will be about Minecraft.
• Mojang is collaborating with Telltale and members of the community to make Minecraft: Story Mode as Minecrafty as possible.
• The first episode will be released some time in 2015, and will be available on Xbox consoles, PlayStation consoles, PC, Mac, iOS, and Android-based devices.
• Minecraft: Story Mode will be released episodically, just like The Wolf Among Us, The Walking Dead, or the recent Tales from the Borderlands, which is another developer-collaboration series between Telltale Games and Gearbox Software.
• We’re not intending on creating an “official” story for Steve, or explaining the world of Minecraft in detail. It will be a cool game.
• The Minecraft 2 thing was a joke. No really. It was a joke.

他のお知らせとしては、Minecraftストーリーモードを作る為に、テルテイル・ゲームズ（勝手に訳者注：恐らくゲーム・オブ・スローンズなどを作ってる会社）とコラボしたんだ！お祝いとして、ここにいくつかの要点を

• マイクラのストーリーモードは、テルテイル・ゲームズによって作られる物語のゲーム（日本語風にいうと多分「ストーリードリブン」）になる予定。マインクラフトについてのものになるだろう。
• Mojang が Telltale Games とコミュニティのメンバーとコラボして、マイクラのストーリーモードを出来る限りマイクラっぽくさせた。
• 初めのエピソードは 2015 年のどこかでリリースされる。そして、Xbox、PlayStation、PC、Mac、iOS、そしてアンドロイドで利用できるようになる。
• マイクラのストーリーモードはエピソード風にリリースされる予定で、「The Wolf Among Us」や「ウォーキング・デッド(The Walking Dead)」、または最近の「ボーダーランズ(Tales from the Borderlands)」のように。「Tales from the Borderlands」は他のディベロッパー Telltale Games と Gearbox Software の間でコラボしたシリーズ。
• 私たちはスティーブの「公式」なストーリーを創るつもりはないし、マインクラフト世界の詳細を設定するつもりもないけど、これはクールなゲームになるよ。

まず、訳に関しては適当な訳なので、厳密に正確に知りたい人は Mojang の投稿を直接読んでほしい。個人的には最近マイクロソフトが買収して以降 Minecraft のスナップショットなどが止まってしまっていたので大丈夫かと思っていたけど、クリスマス向けに色々裏で動いていたという事なんだろう、多分。 3DS や WiiU で発売して欲しいと思っていた人にはちょっと残念なクリスマスのサプライズだったかもしれないけど Minecraft に関してマイクロソフトはまだ活発に動いているようなので、最近としては Minecraft の今後の展開に希望が持てるお知らせだったと思う。

おまけ

Telltale Games の英語版 Wikipedia のページが驚異的な速さで更新されており、開発したゲームのなかに最新作として「Minecraft: Story Mode」が既に記述されている。なんか、マインクラフトのこういう細かい団結力には妙に感心させられる時がある。

Minecraft 1.8.2-pre1 の投稿を適当に訳している時に、何か怪しげなゲーム？のようなものが Mojang のブログにあるなぁと思って、色々やってみてた話。割と大きいニュースだったので、まずこのゲームの適当な概要だけ

「君が世界を探索していると、野生のMojangスタッフに遭遇した」

こんな感じのゲームで、読んでいくと質問されるので、選択肢の中から時間制限以内に答えていく感じになっている。ただ、これは日本人には辛いゲームである。私も英語を読むのが遅い上に、ゲーム画面だとテキストでよく使う辞書ツールが使えないので時間制限がかかると、え？ちょっと待ってと思ってる内に時間が切れるという。まあ大変つらいので、他の細かい選択肢は抜きにして、何を聞いてるとかと肝心の部分だけ紹介しようと思う。

「やあ兄弟！元気そうだね。～略～ ニュースを聞くのは好きかい？」

何と言いたいか

• 短く簡潔に要点を言え
• 時間があるんだ、チャットしようよ
• Mojang のパスワードをリセットしたいだけなんだけど

英語の会話を楽しみたい人は2番目や3番目を、中身が知りたい人は1番目を選ぼう。という事で2番目、3番目はスルーして1番を選ぶと、次の選択肢が出てくる

何といいたいか

• 退屈なプレスリリースを見せろ！
• 実は話したいんだ

ここで迷わず1番を押すと、隠されたプレスリリースのページへ行くというもの。プレスリリースの投稿の訳は、後で書こうかと思っている。

おまけ

チャットをする方を選ぶと、Minecraft 2 の話になり、おお！そんな秘密の情報が！と思わせつつ、証拠があるといいゴソゴソと取り出すと

「ちがう、それ魚だから！」

ポケットから何故か魚やバケツなどガラクタが。最終的には何故かTNTが出てきて爆発し、結局プレスリリースのページに飛ばされるというネタなども入っていた
