It’s time to submit your MINECON panel application! Each MINECON we try to have the best panels anywhere, and that means it’s up to some of you to bring the awesome! A good panel will give attendees tons of information or inspiration. The BEST panels give a bunch of both!
You’ll need to shoot a video of yourself pitching your panel, talking about why the panel would be awesome at MINECON and why you’d be the best one to be on it. Upload it to Youtube as an unlisted video if you don’t want others to see it, and submit the link with the rest of the information about the panel, including the other people you want to be a part of it.
I bring news of skins, achievements, and music! Let’s get on with it.
When most players begin their Minecraft adventure there aren’t many looks to choose from. In fact, you only get to play as our blue-shirted friend. Now, everyone loves Steve – he’s probably the most famous minecrafter in the world, and has excellent stubble.
But jolly old Steve doesn’t really represent the diversity of our playerbase. For that reason, we’re giving all players opportunity to play with an Alex skin instead. She brings thinner arms, redder hair, and a ponytail; she actually looks a bit like Jens from certain angles.
Players on all consoles will get the Alex skins for free this Wednesday.
Playstation people get The Simpsons!
Playstation players are getting another skin pack this week. The Simpsons, and a bunch of their their closest friends, enemies, and acquaintances are on the way. The bundle includes Principal Seymour Skinner, Groundskeeper Willie, everyone’s favourite… Dewey Largo (!) and a lot more. Download it from Wednesday, if you like.
The Simpsons skin pack is already available on Microsoft consoles.
Xbox 360 users get extra achievements and bonus tunes!
Achievements – some love ‘em, some are indifferent to them, some don’t even know they exist. I know Marc is really, really into them them; take from that what you will.
Until now, Minecraft: Xbox One Edition has included more achevements than 360 Edition. That’s a bit silly when you think about it. This update will add 30 new achievements to the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft, boosting the potential gains to a smooth 1000 gamerscore. Hunt them down but don’t let them rule your playtime. And don’t forget to eat or go to the toilet.
We’re also bringing a bundle of new music tracks to Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition. After this update there’ll be more of C418’s plinky plonky goodness in-game. Nice.
That’s it for now! Have a great week and thanks for playing Minecraft, y’all.
In order to perform some much needed updates to our databases we have decided to schedule a maintenance session. It will take place Tuesday April 14 from 08:00 to 12:00 CEST (UTC+2).
During the maintenance period you will not be able to log in to Minecraft, Scrolls, or Cobalt. You will also not be able to join Minecraft servers (including Minecraft Realms). Most of our websites will also be unavailable. This does not affect Minecraft: Pocket Edition or the console editions of Minecraft.
We’re of course sorry about any inconvenience this may cause you. Rest assured that we would not be doing this unless it was absolutely necessary.
「Minecraft 1.10: The Love and Hugs Update」と銘打たれた今回のアップデート。

Some frequently asked questions:
Q. What will there be to do/see/enjoy at MINECON?
A. We will have tons of panels, lots of exhibitors showing off cool things they are doing with Minecraft, and a bunch of interactive attractions during the event. Saturday night there will also be a party for everyone who attends MINECON. For some ideas of what happens at MINECON see the YouTube videos from our last one.
Q. Will there be a costume contest this year?
A. Absolutely! We love having people show off their creativity when it comes to their Minecraft costumes. There will be prizes and accolades for the best of the best. Here is a video of our costume contest from the last MINECON.
Q. Can I sell my ticket to someone else if I can’t attend?
A. Nope! You can request a refund and those tickets we will resell at a later date! This will keep it as fair as possible.
Q. How can I volunteer to be a MINECON Agent?
A. Each year our MINECON Agents help make MINECON possible, it’s a huge event and couldn’t happen without them! If you want to volunteer, head over and fill out this form. If you’re chosen you will not need to purchase a MINECON ticket!
Q. Can I buy a MINECON ticket just to get the fancy cape?
A. We want all tickets to go to people who will come and enjoy the event, so only people who come to MINECON will get their cape. When you arrive, we scan your ticket, and only scanned tickets will get a cape.
Q. I’m taking my daughter/son/nephew/neighbor to MINECON but I’m an adult and don’t play Minecraft, do I need a ticket for myself as well?
A. Yes you do! We have players of all ages and we have events and things to do for everyone (even a bunch of cool panels for parents of Minecrafters) so all attendees will need to purchase a ticket.
Q. I have an awesome idea for a panel!
A. Well that’s not a question, but soon you’ll be able to submit panel ideas, and maybe yours will be chosen!
Q. What if I miss out on tickets or can’t make it all the way to London?
A. Worry not! We will have an amazing live stream that will run during the entire convention. We’ll be streaming the opening and closing ceremonies, as well as some of the coolest panels! Information on the live stream will be announced before the event. Afterwards, all the panels will be uploaded to our YouTube channel, as well as some videos we make capturing some of the fun of the event.
There will be more information at minecon.mojang.com before tickets go on sale, so if you have a question you didn’t see answered here you can tweet at me and I’ll try to include it on the site.
Minecraft 1.8.2-pre7 – Almost there, just one more…
The longest running series of pre-releases is airing its final episode today.
We are getting close to the release of Minecraft 1.8.2, here is just one more snapshot to make sure we did not break anything with our latest bugfixes and performance tweaks. If everything goes as planned, version 1.8.2 will be released on Thursday, 19th of February 2015.
If you like Minecraft, and you like people who like Minecraft, you’ll probably like MINECON. It’s THE place to see all the cool Mojangstas you fancy, meet people who love Minecraft maybe even as much as you do, and attend panels and events full of YouTube creators and a ton of other talented folks!
This summer we are heading to London, UK to hang out with 10,000 of our closest friends (hint: that’s you!). As usual there will be panels, contests, tournaments, events and a soon-to-be-announced show-of-some-sort for our Saturday night bash.
WHEN: July 4-5, 2015
WHERE: ExCeL London Exhibition and Conference Centre
WHO: You, hopefully!
Since you’re bound to have more questions, I’ll ask myself some in this handy Q&A:
How do I get tickets?
Ticket sales will happen in February, exact date and time will be announced in the next two weeks. You’ll head to minecon.mojang.com to purchase them, but they will go fast! To accommodate different people’s schedules, they will be released in two batches on the same day, different times, 5,000 tickets in each batch. When you buy your ticket you’ll also get access to our discounted hotel pricing, so don’t go booking a hotel room just yet!
How do I become a volunteer (aka MINECON Agent)?
So you want to be a part of the event? We will be taking volunteer submissions next week. You’ll fill out an online form and we will get back to you before tickets go on sale. Watch mojang.com for more details.
I have a great idea for a panel, how can I make it happen?
Our community submitted panels have been some of the best panels we’ve had! Panel submissions will begin in early March. You’ll need to fill out an online form about the panel, who would be best on it, and submit a video of yourself describing the panel and why it should be at MINECON.
I want to exhibit at MINECON. How do I get a booth?
Each year we have a nice selection of awesome exhibitors, and you could be one of them! You can contact us via minecon@mojang.com for exhibition booth requests.
More details and information will be coming in the next couple weeks, keep watching mojang.com for all the answers you seek!
Have you been hacked? What’s going on, Moj?
No! We haven’t been hacked. A bunch of bad people have tricked some of our users into disclosing their account information. We’ve emailed everyone affected, and reset all compromised passwords. If you haven’t received an email from us, you don’t need to worry.
No-one has gained access to the Mojang mainframe. Even if they did, we store your passwords in a super encrypted format. Honestly, you don’t need to panic.
So how did they get the info? You were hacked, weren’t you?
No – we weren’t hacked. The bad people got their hands on other people’s passwords by using an evil technique called “phishing.” That basically means they pretend to be Mojang and fool people into entering their private details onto fake websites.
What can I learn from this?
You should never, ever, enter your Mojang account details on websites that aren’t owned by us. It’s good practice to use different passwords for each of your internet logins too. That way, if someone does get hold of one password, they won’t get access to your other stuff.
I’d still like to reset my Mojang password. Just to be safe
Fair enough. You sound like a sensible one. Here’s a link: minecraft.net/resetpassword. If you have any other support issues, help.mojang.com is your friend.
You’ve bought Pocket Edition many, many times
君たちが Minecraft: Pocket Edition を何度も何度も購入していた件について
Everyone likes big numbers, right? I know I do. Here’s a stonker: 30,000,000! You good people have bought Minecraft: Pocket Edition over 30 million times. Thanks!
Let’s put that into perspective: if each Pocket Edition sale was an average sized dog, and you walked said dog every day with a retractable leash in moderate temperatures across uneven terrain, it would consume approximately 290,566,788^3 kj of energy. I know. It’s a big number.
To celebrate the sales milestone, we’re planning a question and answer session with the devs. It will be broadcast LIVE on the internet. And you get to supply the questions.
Hit this reddit thread and submit your query. We’ll pick the top-voted/least offensive ones and put them to the devs LIVE on air later this week. It’s going to be great. Get involved!
